I am joining Five Minute Friday today as part of my #write31days . The word for this week is long.
“Those who’d like to participate in Five Minute Friday will write for five minutes on the topic of the week, post it on their own blog and link up the post here (via the InLinkz button at the bottom of the post).
“This is meant to be a free write, which means: no editing, no over-thinking, no worrying about perfect grammar or punctuation.
“Just write”

How long, O LORD? How long?
I asked that question over and over again while Mama was in the assisted living and the nursing home. But I have not asked that question of God since Mama died. She is no longer suffering and her mind is clear. So that particular use of “long” does not need to be used for now.
“Long”…yes, this month of writing daily is beginning to feel long, as I have never done this before. But I am really liking it for my subject is interesting to me as a weaver of yarn, and a weaver of words.
Recently, I was in San Diego, CA with both of my sisters and that week seemed just “long” enough. I thoroughly loved being with family and knowing the love we once shared as a family when our parents were alive. I could have enjoyed the time just a bit longer, I am sure, but it was good enough. Plus being in San Diego brought back sweet memories of life there as I was born there as a Navy child and then returned there to grow through high school and college. Those days were long ago but still very close to my heart.
“Long” has many meanings for me today as I weave words for this Five Minute Friday.
I long to be near my God and obey Him in all ways that He should ask of me. I long to be still and know that He is God. I long for God. I long for His love. I am to be still, sitting in my tent until He moves the cloud. During that time, I am under Him in all ways. When the cloud moves, I long to follow Him to where He wants me to set up tent. I am His and long to be forever.
And when the cloud tarried long upon the tabernacle many days, then the children of Israel kept the charge of the LORD, and journeyed not. Numbers 9:19
